I provide leadership to a staff of 23 employees and sell travel. I have worked in our travel agency for the past 19 years. My specialty is booking and planning Asian Adventure travel, supporting corporate travel clients and managing a destination soccer tournament. Prior to working in a travel agency I spent two years teaching English in China which allowed me the opportunity to explore the whole of South East Asia. I grew up in the travel business; my parents, Leo and Teri Trettin started an agency called Travel Specialists in 1978. They purchased Travel Center and became a Travel Leaders franchisee in 1987. Throughout high school I worked in the agency as a file clerk and delivery driver. After graduating high school I went to Washington State University where I studied psychology and business. Four years of college took me to Princess Tours for a season in Alaska working in their “hospitality” division. “Would you like fries with that?” was my most frequent refrain. A summer as a deli clerk in Denali National park under the Princess banner inspired me to put my college degree to work. Immediately after college I entered the field of Addiction Rehabilitation. After a 2 year stint as a social worker I decided I needed to travel. This led me to China where I taught English part time and traveled full time. In 1998 I returned home with 20 Chinese students in tow. I worked as a tour guide for our own cultural exchange program, Small World Language Exchange. In order to make ends meet I naturally began working at the travel agency again. I worked as the receptionist while attending classes on computer systems and running the Chinese cultural exchange program twice per year. Once for students from China in the summer time and once for teachers from China in the winter. In 2002 I began managing a soccer tournament in Las Vegas and has turned it into the largest adult men’s soccer tournament. Since 1998 I have worked in nearly every position at Travel Leaders – Travel Center Inc. I am now the chief dream consultant.
